Great Pocast Website

Well, everyone, I did it. I found a great education podcast website which I will actually be able to use with the Kindergarten and first grade teachers as we collaborate on improving their students' writing skills. The URL is: http://www.epnweb.org/

When I got to this website I clicked on the "Student and Class Podcasts" link. Then I clicked on the "Elementary Grades" link. Finally, I clicked on "Banyan-audiobooks." On this link are a list of different student names. Each student is reading a story written and illustrated by themself. I listened to several and they are so darned cute. It reminded me of my First Grade teaching days when I would do Writer's Workshop with my students. You could feel the pride they feel, just in their voices. It was awesome!

I also successfully downloaded itunes. I ran across the most useless, yet fascinating, intriguing, and, at times, hilarious trivia podcast called "Stuff you should know.". Some of the many episodes are: Is spontaneious human combustion real? How do dogs perceive time? How castles work? Five crazy government experiments. Can you remember being born? What is a hangover, really? etc. You can probably see what I mean about being useless yet fascinating, etc. Try it sometime.
